The word vampire conjures up thoughts of ghoulish fanged monstrosities or handsome light-skinned Don Juans with an unquenchable blood-lust and a penchant for melancholy.  As firmly rooted as these fictional creatures are, real vampires come in a much more common shape, yet they are no less debilitating to those caught in their cycle of conceit.  They can be a friend, workmate, family member, or even your own husband or wife.  I’m talking about psychic vampires.

Psychic vampires are not fictional creatures with the ability to use extrasensory abilities, but real breathing human beings that extract joy from our psyche, strain our tolerance levels, wear us out, and lure us into a place of depression and darkness.  This darkness will affect our home life, general interaction skills with others, and encumber our work persona.  We’ve all experienced the varying types:

  • Wears strong facades and seem fine until they get you alone, reveal their true identity, and cloak you within the confines of their struggles without reciprocation or concern for your welfare
  • Have no interest in life, no goals, a fatalist mindset, and often enjoys self-medicating
  • Generally dreary individuals, sometimes passive-aggressive, constantly wanting to discuss the more negative aspects of life
  • Overtly damning types, lacking in pity or graciousness, ribald, and entirely fine with their perturbing view of a horrible world
  • (The worst kind) Vicious creatures who directly inflict damage upon you, unable to forgive anything, unyielding in their negatively, and directly seeking to cause misery

These vampires make a marked impact on a Soul’s progress, injecting the virus of negativity, and infecting us with manifold complications and spirit wilting instability.

Souls in a state of progress that are attempting to remove negativity from their lives must take a stand for themselves and commit to the eradication of these influences.  There are the steps you can take that accomplish this goal.  First, you have to do a vampire test.  It goes as follows:

THE VAMPIRE TEST

A. Think of the person in your life who may be a vampire

B. Think of the last few occasions you spent time together

Answer the following questions:

  • Did that person speak of others in a negative way on a frequent basis?
  • Did that person have a sour attitude or seem dismayed?
  • Was the potential vampire wanting to share all the terrible things in their life?
  • Did the person ever ask how your day was and desire to listen to your experiences?
  • Did they say any positive things about their day or life experiences?
  • Did they smile or laugh during the time you were together?
  • Was despondence their only feeling?
  • Did this person express hate or dislike for most things in their life?
  • Does this potential vampire dwell on the past and/or lament the future?
  • Do they get upset when they think you are not there for them?
  • Do they seem unhappy when you want to discuss the positive things in your life?
  • Have they been negative, dreary, or despondent for a long time?
  • Do they respond to the positive things you share about your life with comparisons to theirs or with negative statements or sarcasm?

If the majority of the above questions are answered with yes, then you have a vampire in your midst.  An entity that is draining the substance of joy from your life and obfuscating the bright lightness of being that is such a necessity for our kind.

Vampires do the following to Soulkind:

  • Hinder your personal growth
  • Affect every aspect of your life by adding a weight that carries into other arenas
  • Stain you with their debilitating negativity
  • Cripple your reserve of resilience
  • Smother out your childlike wonder and supplant it with constant seriousness and complication
  • Monopolize your valuable time and then disrespect it with wasteful actions

And lastly, the most important thing a vampire does if you remain their victim:

You will gradually become a vampire yourself

This happens because once a vampire has earned your trust, gained power over you, and has affected your psyche–draining your resources–for long enough, you begin to slowly transform into their kind.  It is their nature to do this and, just like the fictional three bites from three visitations, you will become infected and turn into one yourself, carrying the same incapacitating traits.

Fortunately there is a bane to their actions and a valid method of revival.  You’ll know you’re able to recuperate because wanting recovery automatically proves you aren’t fully transformed.  Yet, after assessing that the person in your life is themselves a full-fledged vampire that you cannot help, you must take action quickly and courageously.

The following tools are the necessary means for defeating a vampire and eradicating them from your life:

GARLIC

Garlic, as defined in this guide, is the fragrant aroma of your positivity.  You must exude the force of your positivity in all that you do when in the presence of a vampire.  Warding them off first begins with armoring yourself in that which it is averse to.  No matter their attempt to further infect you, this tool will constantly waft from your presence, helping to keep their vampirism at bay.  Also, wearing this garlic in your daily endeavors furthers your ability to ward off future vampires as well.  It must be noted that garlic is just one aspect of eradication and is certainly not fool proof.  Clever vampires can still attempt to evade its sting.

THE CROSS

The cross, by definition in this guide, is a more direct tool than garlic.  It is, just like in fictional accounts, an in-their-face rebuke of any attempts to infect you.  The cross you wear is a direct response to any negativity.

Examples:

Vampire 1:  I’ve really had a bad day, I hate everything and need you to talk to me.

The Cross:  Unfortunately I just don’t have time for that.

Vampire 2:  Do you want to know what I don’t like about you?

The Cross:  I have zero interest in knowing.  I’m too busy enjoying my day.

Vampire 3:  Hey, at lunch I can’t wait to tell you about what that whore Sheila did.

The Cross:  No thank you, I’m spending my lunch focused on more interesting things.

The cross is a blunt, in your face, no nonsense retort to any negative interaction that will pull you in and suck the joy from your spirit.  It is not meant to be cruel and shouldn’t be worded as such.  It is an expression of direct fact so there is no guessing what you mean, which wards off vampires with amazing accuracy.  Similar to the fictional representation, it is a powerful tool but requires bravery or it doesn’t work.  You have to believe in it and show courage or it will fail to repel your adversaries.

THE STAKE

The most powerful tool ever devised for the eradication of vampires is the stake. Defined here, it is a swift, take-no-prisoners action that ends any vampire requiring immediate removal from your life.

Nailing in the stake is doing the following: Request an audience with any vampires in your life. Once they’re present, tell them exactly why you are no longer going to spend time with them, followed by a firm bon voyage. The stake requires the most courage of all because it takes getting right to the point and close enough to hammer it in.

Consider the following example:

I want to get right to the point Sam. I’ve realized that I can’t help you and any further actions on my part are just a waste of my precious energy. Being around you affects me spiritually and drains me of my inherent resilience and joy. I hope that you can recover from your issues and I wish you the best in that endeavor. From this point I’m severing all personal ties with you and am moving forward with my life. Goodbye Sam.

This is a strong example of how the stake works. It references why you are severing the relationship, what they have done, why there is incongruence, and that you will no longer be a party to it. The final sentence is of the utmost importance; a firm, eye-to-eye goodbye followed by their name. It cements the action in a powerful way. After it’s done, do NOT allow them to utilize any tactic to pull you back in or you’ll find that the stake has missed its mark. Just walk away.

Dealing with vampires in the manner described above will, despite some hardship, heartache, or struggles that come from having to do it, will greatly enhance your progress toward Illumination. Eradicating vampires is hard, but it MUST be done or you will remain victimized by them, impeding every aspect of your life and keeping you from new forms of elucidation. It’s very important to remember though, that people in your life with temporary, valid problems are not one of the infected. This is a normal part of life and your love and presence for them is the beauty of how relationships work. Use the vampire test to know the difference.

Finally, always use the test with full cognizance that they may be one of the infected; a long-term negative and psyche-sapping parasite that will only cause you harm and impede your progress. Every time you assess and remove a vampire you’ll find that your joy, happiness, and Soulful constancy is even more empowered, leading you further down the path toward a greater sense of Illumination.
