A significant portion of contemporary churches, starting just a few short decades ago, made their marks in society by preaching hellfire and damnation. Their uneducated and amoral preachers know that spilling such poison onto the converts will keep the pews occupied and the offering plate full of funding. There is no better way to profit than to strike terror in the hearts of hapless Souls that want to achieve immortal life; the expositor demanding that the flock stay in church or risk the loss of salvation. They must do as the old widow did and give as much as they possible can; they must store their riches in heaven at the expense of giving their money to the church here on earth. In the simplest terms, preaching about the next life at the expense of this one is a profitable hustle.
Unfortunately, the members of these churches have been blindfolded and guided down the wrong hallway into volatile and perilous paradigms. The insight necessary to supply them a clearer truth often has a difficult time getting past their guarded minds. A clever preacher instills roadblocks in a congregant’s mind so that he can maintain control of them. If an outsider claims that the belief is wrong, the congregant has been trained to shut down and rebuke them. Capable churches and preachers are the ones that do their best to keep anyone from swaying their paying members. Because of their actions, millions of people today have a misguided view on terrestrial cohabitation, sullying the joy for living here in the way our Designer intended.
Despite the constructs of greedy churches and contemptible laypersons, being on earth is meant to provide a magnificent chance to experience a world that is made just for you. You are intended to occupy this world and experience the wonder of what was created for us. Our vehicles, the human body, contrary to religious opinion, are not evil. What the human is capable of doing can be deemed so, but the vehicle itself is a beautiful, complex, and amazing creation. Being in your particular vehicle is part of experiencing the world around you and all of its senses are for being able to interact within this closed environment. Your human, nor the world, is evil, and it’s time that religious followers grasp this reality.
If you can appreciate, no matter your religion, that being here is a worthwhile experience, not some carnal horror, and that we are to suck the marrow from the bones of our terrestrial life, then you will have a wondrous time here. It will alter your experience entirely, removing you from the bonds of in-authenticity. This is because leaving the small coop of religious law frees you to wander openly into the vast forest of God’s perfect beauty. To refrain from this release is to be victimized by men whose sole power lies in their desire to keep you confined to their demands.
To focus on the edicts of these charlatans (not all are, mind you, but a surprising amount without question) and keep your eyes on some divine future, or the purported life to come, is to forfeit the gift of experiencing the world we live in at present. We did not arrive here just to exclaim disdain for our existence and thrash against the multitude of experiences laid out before us. We are here to live a very short life inside these bodies within the labyrinth of a tremendously unique and breathtaking ecosystem.
When Illumination occurs, your Soul takes control of your flesh as it should and you distinguish things for what they are. You recognize the temporary nature of your fleshly vehicle and demand to live boldly because you know this life doesn’t last long. You remove the cloak of social manipulation, wake up, and live your life freely. In order to do this: Question the laws of your religion! See what is fundamental and what is inconsequential and gauge its validity with reason, wisdom and logic.
Life is not about unnecessary rules and religious restrictions. Those are, more times than not, the product of exploitation…and you are the victim. If you must have religion then:
• Sit on the edge of the Trolltunga precipice after an exhilarating hike
• Rub silica on your face and float in the warm blue lagoon waters of Iceland
• Snorkel the Bahamian coral reefs alongside extraordinarily colorful ocean life
• Taste the amazing complexity of French pastries and cooking
• Explore the endless beauty of Oregon
• Sip delicious Turkish tea in an Istanbul cafe, marveling at its old world charm
• Sit still long enough to watch an orb weaver craft its magnificent web
• Enjoy the sounds of Bliss, Enigma, Greg Maroney, Sigur Ros, or Olafur Arnalds
Now THAT’S religion. Why? They’re the reason for our occupation of this little planet; far from the prison of apologetics, proselytizing, and fear.
Instead of a confining perspective of why we’re here, a SoulJourner dances beyond the boundaries of religion and in the hinterlands of wonder and awe. The Illuminated are too consumed by the myriad experiences of this vast world to be beholden to pseudo-spiritual self-help and the pedestrian teachings of money grabbing zealots.
We know that Love is our release and the guide by which we treat ourselves and others. Adventure and wisdom educates us so we understand the route necessary for gauging what is right and wrong in this world. We uncloak ourselves from tribal and institutional restriction and discard societal norms. We know it doesn’t matter if we drink the sacrament, speak in tongues, pray to the east, follow lists and lists of protocols, put a cloth on our head, honor a specific day, wear magic underwear, don a dress instead of pants, etc. etc. etc.. Those religious laws are all designed to control you and purge the freedom that our Creator has given you to act according to your own creative desires.
If you are anticipating the “coming” or experiencing a restricted life of regulation in preparation for the next one, to the detriment of wasting this one, then this is a call for you to change what you are doing and LIVE NOW. In the end, this entry is principally for any of you restricted by religious mandates; who have been duped by a system that has no bearing on the truth. You have been subjugated because that is how the church remains profitable. You have been given laws so that you will stay with these organizations and continue to support them. Your well earned funds are funneled into questionable depositories and possibly used for less than philanthropic endeavors. Once you wake up to the truth, you will break free from these bonds and live your life more freely. In regard to the Christ, loving him is not a religion anyway, it is a relationship.
